Refund Policy

Last Updated: July 7, 2026

This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds are issued for paid subscriptions and usage-based charges on the Kaizen platform (the "Service"), operated by Kaizen, Inc ("us", "we", or "our"). It should be read together with our Terms of Service. Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable statutory right you have as a consumer under the laws of your country or state; where those laws grant you stronger protection than this policy, those laws control.

1. 14-Day Refund on Your First Payment

If you are not satisfied with a paid plan, you may request a full refund of your first subscription payment within 14 days of that charge. This applies to the initial payment on a new paid subscription only — one refund per account.

To request it, contact us at billing@kaizenseason.com within the 14-day window. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days.

2. Usage Overage Is Non-Refundable

Kaizen plans include a monthly AI usage wallet that powers Zensei, workflow runs, and AI game generation. If you choose to raise your usage cap, any charges for usage above your plan's included amount ("overage") reflect services already delivered and are non-refundable.

You control this entirely: overage is only ever billed after you opt in by raising your cap. Leave your cap at the included amount and you will never incur an overage charge.

3. Cancel Anytime — Effective at Period End

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period: you keep full access to paid features until that date, and you are not charged again afterward.

Because you retain access through the period you already paid for, we do not provide prorated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period after the 14-day window described in Section 1.

4. Renewals

Subscriptions renew automatically at the start of each billing period. Renewal payments are not covered by the 14-day first-payment refund. To avoid a renewal charge, cancel before your renewal date — your access continues until the period ends.

5. Squad (Team) Subscriptions

Squad plans are billed per seat and share a single usage pool. The 14-day first-payment refund applies to the initial Squad subscription payment. Removing a seat stops future charges for that seat at the next billing period; usage already consumed from the shared pool is non-refundable.

6. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first — we resolve almost every billing question faster than a bank dispute can. Opening a chargeback or payment dispute with your card issuer before contacting us may result in your account being suspended for the duration of the dispute, because the payment processor automatically freezes the affected account.

If a chargeback is later found to be invalid, we reserve the right to re-bill the disputed amount and any associated processor fees, and to restrict access until the balance is settled. This does not apply to, and does not limit, genuine unauthorized-transaction or fraud claims.

7. No Refund on Termination for Cause

If we suspend or terminate your account for a violation of our Terms of Service (for example, abuse, fraud, or unlawful use), fees already paid are non-refundable and any usage already consumed is not credited. This does not affect refunds required by applicable law.

8. Exceptions

If you were charged in error, or believe there is a billing mistake on your account, contact us and we will investigate and correct it regardless of the timelines above. Where required by applicable consumer-protection law, your statutory rights take precedence over this policy.

9. How to Request a Refund

Email billing@kaizenseason.com from the address associated with your account, including the charge date and amount. We aim to respond to all refund requests within 3 business days.
